Kenneth G. Winans 

 

Kenneth G. Winans is the president and founder of Winans International Investment Management and Research. For more than 24 years, he has conducted extensive investment analysis and designed innovative investment models and strategies. The Wall Street Journal, Barron’s, Forbes, and USA Today have published much of his investment research. Ken can be heard often on one of Los Angeles’ most popular news radio station, CBS affiliate KNX (1070 AM).

         For more than 24 years, Kenneth G. Winans has conducted extensive investment analyses and designed innovative investment models and strategies. He is a regular guest on various TV and radio shows and has had much of his investment research published by leading magazines and newspapers worldwide. He can be heard every Wednesday 1-1:30 p.m. on Los Angeles’ most popular news radio station, CBS affiliate KNX (1070 AM), in a segment called Wednesdays with Winans.

      In 1992, Ken decided to leave a promising career with Merrill Lynch to launch Winans International. From a spare room in his home, he started the company with approximately $7 million in client assets. WI has approximately 115 investors throughout the United States—personal portfolios, small-business retirement plans, and nonprofit organization investments. As of March 31, 2006, WI’s assets under management were $102 million.

      He is a member of the Market Technicians Association and completed the Chartered Market Technician (CMT) accreditation program. Ken is also a member of the Chartered Financial Analyst (CFA) Institute. He served as adjunct faculty member of the Graduate School of Business at St. Mary’s College of California from 1996-2001. He has a master degree in finance for University of San Francisco, and a bachelor degree in business administration from the University of San Diego.

      In 2004, Ken and his wife Debbie founded The W Foundation, a nonprofit organization dedicated to educating the public about the history and future benefits of space exploration. In his spare time, Ken ski-races in the U.S. Ski Association’s Masters Program, and collects artifacts from the U.S. space program and antique stock certificates.

      Ken and Debbie are longtime residents of the San Francisco Bay area.
